Free Eventually is the newest single from Felix And The Sunsets to combine their distinct mix of defiance and hope. The track features some of the best loved elements of their chaotic and complex sounds. The fuzzy, Jack White influenced soloing of their latest single Pass Me My Matches (20,000 streams on Spotify), the digital synth sounds and up-tempo rock and roll energy of The Mushroom Song (14,000 streams on Spotify) and the complex drumming and social consciousness of This Will Change (playlisted in the Scottish Alternative Music Awards monthly new music round-up) all combine to create their best track yet.

Free Eventually takes aim at Tory austerity (“they don’t feed the kids/ and they should be ashamed”) and exploitative working conditions (“we all work too hard/ for the wealth they take/ they give us just enough/ so that we don’t break”), issueing a rallying cry for organisation and civil disobedience (“I’m here for peace/ but we’ve got to breathe/ and we’re gonna be free/ like you won’t believe”).

Recorded with Rod Jones of Idlewild at Post Electric Studios in Leith, the track is their 5th release of 2021 and follows their best release yet, the Creative Scotland funded EP ‘This Will Change’, named after their anti-racist protest song of the same name.
